Nanocolumns Give YBCO Wires a Big Boost

As high-temperature superconducting wires inch ever closer to market, a couple of shortcomings have continued to hold them back. Now, on page 1911, researchers report that they have surmounted those hurdles, at least for short lengths of wire made in the lab. (Read more.)
