Archaeoraptor

Hailed as "a true missing link" between birds and dinosaurs when it debuted in National Geographic in November 1999, Archaeoraptor soared off in a burst of media fame. But early this year the flying dinosaur fell to Earth in a jumble of parts from two distinct fossils--a primitive bird and a dinosaur.
