Plants May Be Hidden Methane Source

A report in the 12 January issue of Nature suggests that one source of the potent greenhouse gas methane has been overlooked: plants. The surprising finding could force a reappraisal of how much various sources contribute to the total amount of methane emitted to the atmosphere, how to mitigate some of them, and how they might change.
